Ademola Lookman, expressed optimism regarding Atalanta’s chances of securing a spot in this season’s UEFA Europa League final.

The first leg of the semi-final clash against Olympique Marseille at the Stade Velodrome, ended in a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for an intense rematch.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad led during the game, but were pegged back when the home side equalised and, ultimately setting up the stage for a cracking second leg.

However, Lookman remains confident in Atalanta’s abilities, to finish off the tie in second leg.

“We started off with a good goal, a good start, we went 1-0 up. They obviously got their goal 1-1. So it was a pretty even game,” the 27-year-old told UEFA’s official website.

“They had chances, we had chances. Ultimately 1-1 away from home is a positive result so next game we’ll look to hopefully be in the final.”

Next week Thursday, the Gewiss Stadium will host the second leg clash between the two teams.

In the other Semi-final, Bayer Leverkusen faces AS Roma, with the Germans leading 2-0 from the first leg.
