Lookman and Iheanacho keeps Leicester’s title dream alive

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was instrumental in Leicester City in their 1-1 draw against Roma in the UEFA Conference League.

The striker was harmful for the Italians led by Jose Mourinho and was unlucky not to find his way into the scoresheet.

Lookman was by far Leicester City’s best player on the pitch and it wasn’t surprising when the equalizer came through him.

Leicester City fell behind after just 15 minutes, when Kaspee Schmeichel made mess of Lorenzo Pellegrini’s low angle shot.

Lookman then took to fight to Roma and saw his first half effort saved by Roma’s goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

He had another chance to equalizer in the second half, but his free header from a corner wasn’t good enough to trouble the goalkeeper.

The equalizer finally arrived in the 68th minute. The on-loan RB Leipzig forward who had been the Foxes biggest threat forced Gianluca Mancini to divert Harvey Barnes cross into his own net.

Lookman’s compatriot Kelechi Ihenacho who replaced ineffective Jamie Vardy in the second half also saw long-range effort topped to the post by Rui Patricio.

The stalemate means next Thursday’s rematch in Rome is a must win game for the Foxes, if they want to play their first ever European final.
