Lobi Stars have debunked reports about the potential move of their star man, Joseph Atule, away from the club this off season.

In a statement, Lobi Stars denied the 22-year-old winger, who they signed as a Free agent after leaving ENPPI SC last year, is on the verge of departing the Club.

Joseph Atule was crucial for Lobi throughout the regular and post season rounds of the 2023 abridged NPFL season.

He scored 5 goals and provided 5 assists in 21 games.

The Winger has since become a transfer target for Rivers United; the player confirmed talks were ongoing between his representatives and the NPL Club per The Athletic.NG.

However, Lobi Stars insists there has been no negotiation for the Player’s transfer.

The Statement read:

“We have read with dismay reports emanating from different media platforms that our pacy winger, Joseph Atule, has been signed for our rivals and former NPFL champions, Rivers United.

“We wish to inform the general public that Lobi Stars is not aware of any transfer deal involving our player, Atule.

“Atule is part of the Lobi Stars team which is at the moment travelling to Eket, Akwa Ibom State for Naija Super 8.

“Therefore, members of the public, especially those who can easily fall prey to fake news, should disregard the purported transfer of our prized assets.

“We restate that there is no iota of truth in it.”
