Last season, Lobi Stars missed out on a ticket to play in a continental competition, but they’ve quickly put that disappointment behind them and are having another go at glory this season.
On Wednesday, the Ortom Boys pipped Akwa United 1-0 in a rescheduled league match and the form of the Makurdi-based side has been a delight according to midfielder, Esosa Igbinoba.
Up to third in the table and just a point behind leaders Plateau United, after 10 league matches, Lobi Stars fancy their chances of picking a silverware this season.
Speaking with brila.net after the match, Igbinoba stated that the result was a relief and will ignite their ambition for the new league season.
He said the club wants to compete for the league title or at least get a continental ticket.
Buoyed by the fire power of striker, Anthony Okpotu last season, Lobi managed to finish in seventh spot, just seven behind a guaranteed CAF Competition spot.
