The League Management Company will allow Sunshine Stars field seven newly signed players after it “relaxed” the rule to halt the registration of new players to clubs that deferred in the payment of players’ salaries.
Sunshine Stars were barred from registering over a dozen of new signings for the new season, but have issued a statement on the new development in the case.
According to a release by the club’s media department, quoting ODSFA Chairman and Club President, Tajudeen Akinyemi.
“Yes LMC only allow us to use seven (less than half) of our new players for our next match.
“The situation would have been fully resolved but their have been delays in response from some parties we are to reach agreement with.”
The Akure based club received news of the reversal two days before their matchday 8 clash with four-time league winners, Kano Pillars at the Ondo Sports Complex.
