League Management Company has confirmed that the suspension of Kano Pillars captain Rabiu Ali and Sunshine Stars coach Kayode Julius has reviewed with the pair on the verge of returning to the pitch and dug out respectively.
Rabiu Ali was handed a 12 match ban following his role in the crisis that rocked one of Kano Pillars’ game in the last season’s Super eight in Agege stadium Lagos.
Kayode Julius on his part was suspended for a year after he appeared to have punched Ospino Egbe ( then of Lobi Stars) in the face after the final whistle of game involving Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars last season.
The LMC however revealed that the punishment of the pair has been reviewed and it will be suspended as from match day six.
The from the league Management body reads:
“Following apology letters from Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars, his 12-match ban has come under review considering the community service he rendered as directed by the LMC.
After considering Rabiu Ali’s past record in the league, the remaining period of his ban is hereby commuted to a suspended sentence with effect from Matchday 6.
Rabiu Ali is however required, as part of the commutation of his ban, to contribute to community engagement & development including visiting schools to promote good virtues associated with football.
Also the suspension of Sunshine Stars coach Kayode Julius was also reviewed having served 7 months of the ban.
Following Julius’ appeal and his exemplary behaviour, the remainder of his punishment which came into effect after Matchday 2 of the 2018/19 season is suspended with immediate effect.”
