Sadio Mane has tied Kanu Nwankwo for the total number of premier league goals scored in their careers in England following his strike against Leicester City in the 1-1 result on Wednesday night at Anfield.
The Senegalese scored his 54th league goal; a combination of goals scored during his time at Southampton and Liverpool, to tie the former Arsenal, West Brom and Portsmouth star.
Mane scored 21 goals in 67 appearances over two seasons at Saints Mary, before joining Liverpool where he has spent three seasons.
Overall the winger has made 145 appearances in the PL and achieved his goal haul in 128 fewer games than Kanu did (273).
He has since passed Efan Ekoku who scored 52 goals in the premier league as a player of Norwich City and Wimbledon.
Mane plays as a component in one of Europe’s most lethal attack alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
