Lille coach Chris Galtier explains Osimhen’s absence from pre season

Lille coach Christopher Galtier has has reiterated that the club is fully with Victor Osimhen in this difficult time and have excused him from training in order to be with his family.

Osimhen lost his father to the cold hand of death and has since returned to the country ahead of the funeral which has been slated for next week.

 

While Osimhen is still in Nigeria, Lille have started pre-season training for next season and Chief coach Christopher Galtier has now explained that the club gave the striker permission to bury his father before joining his teammates.

 

“The only thing missing is Victor Osimhen, who had the misfortune to lose his father during this terrible period and who could not be close to his family.

 

“So we decided with the club to leave him with the family for the funeral. He is therefore absent for a few days.

 

“I give him, like all of LOSC, my full support during this difficult period.”

 

Meanwhile the family has announced that Pa Patrick Osimhen will be laid to rest June 23rd in Lagos.

 

The family also disclosed that Pa Osimhen, aged 80, will be buried according to Christians rites at a private cemetery in Ojodu, Lagos.

 

He survived by seven children- Andrew, Samson, Gloria, Esther, Joy, Blessing and Victor Osimhen.
