Lightening Strikes Twice! Man City Outclass Arsenal in repeat of Cup Final win

If you thought Arsenal were awful in the 3-0 defeat to Man City in Carabao Cup Final – well, they were – then Thursday’s performance in the EPL was simply TERRIBLE.

In a repeat of the events on Sunday, Pep Guardiola unleashed his Incredibles and boy did they deliver.

Arsene Wenger demanded a response from his players, matter-of-factly, from everybody in the club, but it was the fans who first let him down – not turning out in their droves at the Emirates.

Then his players went out offering very little to be delighted about – even the £60million-rated Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could not convert from the penalty spot to save face – they were gutless.

Presumably, Nigeria’s only “real” concern in the game, Alex Iwobi, was on the bench for the duration of the game – otherwise, who knows, those internet vultures would have blamed him for Arsenal’s defeat.

Iwobi played a bit part in the Carabao Cup final, and even on that occasion the Gunners did not capitulate like they did at home.

It took City two halves of the game to bring Wenger’s men to their knees that time, but Thursday was comical… inside the opening 33 minutes of the game Arsenal were chasing a 3-0 deficit.

You could even see that City let them off the hook in the second half which produced no goals, but also didn’t see a bit of an improvement from the home team.
