Libya captain, Faisal Al-Badri has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a victory against the Nigeria when both sides meet in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, in Uyo.

Libya currently sits at the bottom of their group with just one point, while Nigeria leads the standings with three points.

Despite their position, Al-Badri believes the North Africans have a chance to turn things around.

Speaking at a press conference in Uyo on Thursday, Al-Badri says Libya is determined to claim their first win in the qualifiers, despite facing squad challenges.

At least five of their players have withdrawn from the match, adding pressure to the team’s preparations.

“We’re here to win,” Al-Badri stated.

“We know we’re up against the strongest team in Africa, but we came here to win.”

He added, “It’s a winnable game. We are not afraid of Nigeria. We are here to prove a point.”

The clash is expected to be a tough test for the Libyan side, as they aim to overcome their underdog status against a formidable Nigerian team.
