Liberia head coach Peter Butler says his side will give their best against Nigeria in Friday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Lone Stars will begin their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a trip to Lagos, where they lock on with Nigeria at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The game will be the first FIFA World Cup Qualifying match between both side in Lagos since 2000, when the Eagles ran out 2-0 winners.
The Super Eagles are favourite to for this tie again, due to their pedigree and the quality of players in the squad.
Speaking ahead of the game, Butler admitted that Nigeria is blessed with better players, but he’s backing his wards to give them a run for their money.
“But I am going to back myself against any coach in this group.
“They have Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, I could name more, but we’re going to be competitive and I believe we’re going to upset a few teams on the road.” He said.
