Leicester City boss Rodgers provides update on Ndidi’s injury

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that Super Eagles midfielder that Wilfred Ndidi is making good progress after undergoing surgery on his injured knee two weeks ago.

 

Ndidi sustained the injury in training ahead of Leicester City’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg tie against Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium and has subsequently missed the Foxes premier league home defeat to Southampton last week.

 

While speaking ahead of his side’s league meeting with struggling Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, the former Celtic manager said Ndidi is close to returning to the team.

 

“Ndidi has made great progress. He’s out on the pitch, working.

 

“Apart from that, the squad is good,” Rodgers told reporters on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Burnley at the Turf Moor.

 

Following the injury Ndidi who has made 20 league appearances for the Leicester City this season has lost his position as on top of the premier league tackles chart.

 

Meanwhile, Leicester City sits in the third position in the Premier League table with 45 points from 22 games and will look to bounce back from the shocking 2-1 defeat at home to Southampton last Saturday.
