Leicester Boss Rodgers hails special ‘Mr VAR’ Iheanacho

Kelechi Iheanacho ended his twelve months premier league goal drought when he scored the winner for Leicester City in their 2-1 win over Everton in their English premier league fixture at the Kingpower stadium on Sunday.

The Foxes who remain second on the log came from behind to secured all three points at the expense of  struggling Toffees.

Iheanacho’s heroic display saw him set up Jamie Vardy for the equaliser after Brazilian forward Richarlison’s 23rd minutes opener for the visitors.

Iheanacho then grabbed the winner in the 95th minute , but the goal was initially ruled out for offside, before a video review overturned thendecision.

Leicester manager Brenda Rodgers however showered encomiums on the Nigerian for his consistent hard work in training, despite his lack of first team opportunities.

“I thought we deserved it. It was difficult in the first half, they sat in but we tried to stay positive and play our offensive game. To come from behind as well demonstrates the quality and mindset of this team to keep going.

“In any good team you have to have that. The best teams have spirit. This is a team that is so strong together.

“Kelechi is a wonderful demonstration of someone who trains with a great attitude every day. They allow this team to develop to the level it has been at because they work hard in training. Rodgers said.
