Legends! Al-Farouq Aminu Picks All-time D’Tigers Roster

Former D’Tigers Forward, Al-Farouq Aminu has referred to the set of 2015 as “Legends”.

The 2015 set of D’Tigers won the AfroBasket, and also qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

“I love my brothers, all of them that played for the national team, it’s a true honour, it’s a way to represent your country, and we take it with great pride,” Al-Farouq Aminu told BRL.

“Everyone who played in the team is a legend to me. It’s kind of hard for me to say, but that’s left for other people to talk about and think about who is better.

“I understand the conversations but from my angle, that’s how I see it.”

The roster included Olumide Oyedeji, Shane Lawal, Ike Diogu, Jamal Olaseni, Chamberlain Ogwuche and Al-Farouq Aminu who at that time, played for Portland Trail Blazers.

Nigeria won its first ever AfroBasket after three previous final appearances in 1997, 1999 and 2003.

D’Tigers stunned the competition’s most successful team, Angola, 74-65 at the Salle Omnisport de Rades.
