Goalkeeper Kayode Bankole said he’s happy with the opportunity to represent Nigeria in the international friendly game against Costa Rica.
Bankole played Seventy-five minutes of the 2-0 defeat to World Cup-bound Costa Rica at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica on Thursday morning.
The goalie was impressive, but conceded the two goals before being replaced by Olympic Eagles first choice, Nathaniel Nwosu.
He was beaten in the seventh minute, after Oscar Duarte swept home the ball for a goal from Joel Campbell’s free-kick.
Bankole picked the ball out from his net for the second time in the 75th minute, when Kendall Waston’s header took a deflection to stretch the hosts’ lead.
Despite the defeat, the goal tender shared a positive message about the collective experience in the game.
He tweeted:
A good learning curve vs Costa Rica for the team.
