Lazio has finalized the acquisition of midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru from Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor on a loan agreement, with an option to make the move permanent.

The 23-year-old Nigeria international joins Lazio initially on loan, with the deal including an obligation to purchase should certain sporting conditions be fulfilled.

According to sources, Lazio has agreed to pay approximately €2 million for the loan, with an additional €4 million required to secure the player’s permanent transfer.

Dele-Bashiru, who originally joined Hatayspor as a free agent last season, remains under contract with the Turkish side until 2026.

However, with his contract nearing its final stages by the end of the 2024-25 season, Lazio moved swiftly to negotiate terms that include a reduced transfer fee.

The Nigerian midfielder underwent medical examinations and completed the necessary paperwork to finalize his move to the Serie A club on Thursday.

The signing marks a strategic move by Lazio to bolster their midfield options ahead of the upcoming season.
