Nigerian athlete Alaba Akintola stole the spotlight at the Last Chance Qualifier in Georgia on Sunday morning, winning the men’s 100m and 200m finals.
Akintola ran a Season’s Best of 10.08 seconds (+1.2) to clinch the men’s 100m title.
He outpaced Ronnie Baker, who finished second with a time of 10.14 seconds, and Ameer Webb, who took third in 10.20 seconds.
The Nigerian’s stellar performance did not end there. He returned to dominate the 200m race almost immediately.
He secured the victory with a time of 20.40 seconds (+0.3).
