Lakers Coach JJ Redick Loses Home in LA Wildfires Amid NBA Schedule Disruptions

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has shared the heartbreak of losing his home to the devastating LA wildfires, which have claimed at least 11 lives and destroyed over 10,000 structures, including his Pacific Palisades residence.

“I went through most of the village, and it’s all gone. It’s complete devastation and destruction,” Redick said.

“Everything we own that was of any importance to us after 20 years together as a couple and 10 years of parenting was in that house.”

“There are certain things that you can’t replace. I don’t think you can ever prepare yourself for something like that.”

Redick, who joined the Lakers in June after a 15-year NBA playing career, confirmed that his wife and two sons were away from home when the blaze struck.

NBA Games Postponed

In response to the fires, the NBA postponed this week’s Lakers game against the Charlotte Hornets and Saturday’s scheduled games for both the Lakers and LA Clippers.

Thunder Bounce Back, Celtics Fall at Home

In other NBA news, the Oklahoma City Thunder rebounded from a rare loss to secure a 126-101 win over the New York Knicks, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 39 points and Isaiah Joe adding 31.

Western Conference leaders Oklahoma (31-6) now sit six games clear of the Houston Rockets.

Meanwhile, reigning champions Boston Celtics suffered a shock 114-97 home defeat to the Sacramento Kings, with standout performances from DeMar DeRozan (24 points) and Domantas Sabonis (23 points, 28 rebounds).
