La Liga congratulates Oshoala for CAF awards nomination

Super Falcons captain, Assisat Oshoala has been hailed by the organizers of league football in Spain (La Liga) over her nomination for the African Women’s Player of the Year award.

Oshoala along with Chiamaka Nnadozie and Uchenna Kanuare the three Nigerians in the 10-woman shortlist.

 

Oshoala has been in fine form for Barcelona since joining from Chinese side Dalian Quanjian in January bagging 16 goals in 22 matches.

 

La Liga on Monday, however, took to their verified Instagram account to congratulate the Barcelona forward in a message which was written in pidgin English.

 

“We congratulate Super Falcons and Barcelona striker, Asisat Oshoala, on her nomination for the African Women’s Player of the Year award,” the post read when translated.

 

Oshoala who was a member of the Super Falcons squad that participated at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, has won the African Women’s Player of the Year award three times in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
