Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has been tested for the COVID-19 virus, a report from France has revealed.
The 20-year-old French striker was subjected to a medical examination on Tuesday after being battling a throat infection and fever for the past two days.
Mbappe was not in action for PSG in Ligue 1 this weekend following the postponement of his side’s away match-up with Strasbourg with the coronavirus outbreak on the rise.
However, the former AS Monaco starlet has also failed to show up to any of Les Parisians’ last two training sessions held on Monday and Tuesday.
According to French publication L’Equipe, PSG medical department’s initial diagnosis revealed that Mbappé has a throat infection.
Considering that there have been reported cases of coronavirus infestation in some parts of France, the attacker was subsequently put through a test to see if he is COVID-19 positive.
As per the report of L’Equipe, the results of the test should arrive on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning but current indications point at Mbappe testing negative for the virus.
