Kwara United Football Club have confirmed they will challenge the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Appeal Committee, to upheld the three points award Rivers United at the expense of Jigawa Golden Stars.
Recalled the NFF disciplinary committe penalized Jigawa Golden Stars for fielding an illegible player in the match day 34 encounter and awarded three points to Rivers United.
The decision to award the three points to Rivers United moves them from sixth to second on the table ahead of Enyimba and Kwara United who initially finished third.
Kwara United challenged the ruling, but independent appeal committee later upheld the initial decision and threw away Kwara United’s case for lack of merit.
Reacting to the ruling of Appeal Committee, Kwara United FC, expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, and confirmed they will take their case to the Court Of Arbitrartion for Sports in Switzerland.
According to the Chairman of Kwara United FC, Kumbi Titiloye, the Club won’t accept the decision of the Committee.
“Kwara United FC rejects this decision in its entirety and will put NFF on notice immediately before proceeding to Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS)”, he concluded.
