KRC Genk not Considering Onuachu Reunion

KRC Genk boss Wouter Vrancken has ruled out the possibility of re-signing Paul Onuachu this summer.

Vrancken, in a recent interview said that, Genk could not afford the Forward’s fee.

Onuachu left the Jupiler League side for Southampton on transfer deadline day in January, for a fee in the region of 18 million Euros.

But the Nigerian has not found his form at his new club, failing to score in 11 games as Southampton were relegated to the Championship last season.

There were already rumors about a potential return to Racing Genk, with reports claiming he has agreed a personal terms with the Limburgers.

“That depends on him,” Vrancken told HLN . “Especially the 18 million euros for which Onuachu was sold is a problem for Genk.

“Basically, we don’t want to trade in that category, no.”

“We paid about 5.2 million euros for Bonsu Baah, that’s about the limit for us. Antwerp and Club can go to double that.”
