Sky Bet Championship leaders Leeds United are the latest club to show interest in Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, who is available for a loan move after struggling for regular playing time at La Liga side Sevilla.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are keen to secure Iheanacho’s services before the close of the current transfer window. However, the Whites face stiff competition from other Premier League and European clubs for the 28-year-old striker.
Iheanacho has scored three goals in 11 appearances across all competitions for Sevilla this season but has failed to establish himself as a regular starter since joining the Spanish club on a free transfer from Leicester City last summer.
Leeds, who currently sit atop the Championship standings with 53 points, have shortlisted Iheanacho as a key target and have reportedly made contact over a potential deal.
Despite their strong interest, they will have to fend off rival bids from clubs across Europe’s top leagues.
The Nigerian international’s next move will be crucial as he looks to revive his form and secure more consistent playing opportunities.
