Super Eagles striker Kayode Olanrewaju and his compatriot Leke James fired blank as Sivasspor lost their first league game of the 2021-2022 Turkish Super Lig Season.
Sivasspor were beaten 1-0 by Konyaspor in the Monday’s fixture played at the Yeni 4 Eylul Stadium.
Olarenwaju Kayode and Leke James who joined the team this summer, started in the attack for Sivasspor along with Max Gradel.
The three forward struggled to create meaningful chances all game, before coach Riza Calimbay decided to change Olarewaju and James.
Riza Calimbay replaced James with Mustapha Yatabare in the 65th minute, before sending Sefa Yilmaz on for Olarewaju with six minutes left to play.
Sokol Cikalleshi scored the goal of the game for Konyaspor with two minutes left on the clock.
