Karim Adeyemi hands Salzburg Europa league hope

Forward Karim Adeyemi scored his first UEFA Champions League goal for RB Salzburg in Tuesday’s encounter against Lokomotiv Moscow at the RZD Arena, Moscow.

Adeyemi is one of the upcoming youngsters tipped to step into the limelight following his exploits in the UEFA youth league last season.

 

The player got his opportunity to impress against the Russia side in a Champions League Group A fixture and he repaid the coach with a goal.

 

RB Salzburg won the match 3 – 1 and it was Adeyemi’s goal, 11 minutes from time, that killed off any hope of Lokomotiv Moscow picking a point.

 

Mergim Berisha scored a first half brace for Salzburg, before Anton Miranchuk halved the deficit with a 79 minutes penalty.

 

The three points moved Salzburg to the 3rd place on the log with 4 points and, just a point ahead of the Russian side.

 

However, both clubs are still in the race for Europa league qualification and Salzburg will host Atletico Madrid in a their final game at the Red Bull Arena, while Locomotive Moscow travel to face defending champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

 

Both matches will be played simultaneously next week.
