Kano Pillars FC will take part in Nigeria National League promotion playoff after securing a place in the Super 8.

Pillars, on Saturday, defeated Sokoto United 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium to seal their place in the playoff.

The three points was enough to put the team on top of the Northern Conference Group A3 with 18 points.

The four-time Nigerian Champions were relegated from topflight division last season, following a disastrous campaign.

With the Super 8 ticket in the bag, the Ogenyi Evans-tutored side will now aim to be instant promotion back to the Nigeria Premier League.

The Nigeria National League promotion playoff is billed for the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
