Kano Pillars Head Coach Appointment in Turmoil After Board Dissolution

The appointment of Paul Offor as the head coach of Kano Pillars FC has been thrown into uncertainty following the dissolution of the Interim Board by the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development of Kano State.

This development came after the Interim Board Chairman announced Offor’s appointment on Friday.

The selection process had seen Offor and Usman Abdallah as the top candidates, with Brila.net reporting that while the Chairman preferred Offor, the Commissioner favored Abdallah.

Former Enyimba head coach, Usman Abdallah has also been linked with the Pillars job.

Tensions were evident from the beginning, with both officials backing different candidates.

The unveiling ceremony for Offor was reportedly disrupted by individuals, forcing the Chairman to relocate the event to ensure it took place yesterday.

With the Interim Board now dissolved, the state’s Ministry of Sport’s most senior civil servant will manage the club’s activities until a permanent board is established.

There is speculation that Usman Abdallah could be announced as the replacement for Abdul Maikaba this Saturday.
