KAA Gent Seeking Replacements for Orban and Torunarigha

KAA Gent coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck is seeking replacements for the club’s African players, including Gift Orban and Jordan Torunarigha.

In January, the team faces a challenging situation as seven players could leave for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Buffaloes might have to do without Torunarigha and Orban (Nigeria), Ismaël Kandouss and Tarik issoudali (Morocco), and Noah Fadiga (Senegal) during the tournament taking place from January 13 to February 11.

Vanhaezebrouck expressed his concerns, saying, the club must find alternative in the January transfer market.

“We have a relatively small squad, a concern I’ve had since the start of the season. In January, this issue will become even more apparent, and there’s a sense of panic setting in.

“There have been no concrete discussions about it yet,” he said indicating that no specific actions have been taken to reinforce the squad during the winter transfer window.

Orban and Torunarigha are integral part of Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s squad this season.

KAA Gent currently placed third position in the Jupiler Pro League, having amassed 23 points from 12 games.

Only Union SG and RSC Anderlecht have accumulated more points than the Buffaloes.
