Former Nigeria international Justice Christopher has stated that he wants the Nigeria Super Eagles to shift attention to finishing fairly and ensure they don’t return empty-handed following the team’s 2-1 defeat against Algeria in Sunday’s semi-final clash against their Algerian counterpart.
Christopher speaking in a chat with brila.net after the game said the damage has been done and the Super Eagles are out of the title race but more importantly, is the need to redirect their disappointment on ensuring they don’t live the tournament empty-handed.
He urged the players to try to win the third place match stating that finishing third after back to back absence from the Africa cup of nations wouldn’t be a bad outing.
“I sincerely hope that when the third-place match is been played, we should just try to win to bring something home. Nothing is too small for Nigeria, we should just bring something home.
We are not too good for the final, it doesn’t matter but we should bring something home. Bronze with be fine least we will be third best in Africa after missing out of back to back AFCON.”
