JUST IN – Aston Villa plots January loan move for Iheanacho

Aston Villa are reportedly considering a  loan deal for Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho in the January transfer window.

The West Midlands club are desperately in need of options in attack with Jonathan Kodjia and Keinan Davis, who is currently injured, as back up to first choice striker Wesley Moraes as things stand.

Villa aren’t expected to be busy in January after their huge spending in the summer following their promotion from the Championship.

The Birmingham Mail reports that Dean Smith is looking at a loan deal for Iheanacho if he becomes available in January.

Iheanacho, 23, however, hugged the headlines over the weekend with his man-of-the-match display grabbing a goal and an assist in Leicester’s 2-1 victory over Everton in his first Premier League appearance of the season.

The former Manchester City forward has netted 13 goals in 66 games for the Foxes since his move away from the Citizens in 2017, however, most of his minutes have come as a substitute.
