The wait for an official announcement of Eric Chelle’s contract extension will stretch further as the parties have not concluded on the deal.
Providing an update on the Super Eagles coach’s current status, NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau expressed optimism that an agreement will be reached albeit he did not provide timeline.
Eric Chelle has a year left on his two-year deal and has been in the news lately as courting interest from Clubs as well as Countries.
Speaking through the Super Eagles media team, Gusau stated that the Federation is confident Chelle will stay beyond 2027 when his initial contract is supposed to expire.
‘We still have a one year contract with Eric,’ the NFF boss said.

‘He has so much believe in the Super Eagles, and he has every confidence that he can achieve all his dreams with the team.
‘We believe in him and when the time comes we will let Nigerians know the way forward. But Eric is part of the Super Eagles and he will continue to be part of the team.’
