Erstwhile national team assistant coach Joe Erico has stated that current national team handler Gernot Rohr lacks the gut to try out significant changes in the team which is why he couldn’t give home-based players the chance to be major stakeholders in the senior national team.
Erico speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said invitation of players depends on the coach and that continuous overlooking of players by coach Gernot Rohr isn’t an indication of the dearth of talent in the domestic league but more on what the coach feels is good for the team.
Two home-based players were called up in the list of 23 invited for the dead rubber AFCON 2019 qualifying fixture against Seychelles and the international friendly against Egypt.
