Nigeria national team table tennis player and Gold medalist at the recently concluded All Africa games in Morocco Omotayo Olajide has attributed his surprise success to self belief after claiming an unexpected Gold ahead of more illustrious opponents like Omar Assar and Aruna Quadri.
Omotayo speaking in a chat with brila.net revealed that his success at the games was more than he even envisaged considering the quality of players ahead of him.
He maintained that sheer strength in self believe did the magic for him especially after beating Ahmed Saleh of Egypt in the quarter final before wins against Segun Toriola in the semi final and Aruna Quadri in the final.
“It can only be God nothing changed, same routine same training but I kept on believing in myself even after losing so many matches. I just kept believing and trusting in the process and I have this never die attitude and I can say this never die attitude has took me this far.”
