In their final preseason game ahead of the upcoming season, Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi delivered an impressive performance, helping Fulham secure a 2-0 victory over Hoffenheim.
Iwobi, who has been a standout throughout the preseason, played a crucial role in both of Fulham’s goals, providing two assists and showcasing his creative brilliance on the pitch.
In the first half, Iwobi orchestrated the opening goal with a perfectly executed chipped pass that sliced through Hoffenheim’s defense, allowing Emile Smith Rowe to calmly slot the ball into the net.
The second half saw Iwobi once again on the front foot, initiating a swift counterattack from deep within Fulham’s half.
His sublime diagonal pass found Adama Traoré, who made no mistake in doubling the lead.
Iwobi’s preseason form has been exceptional, highlighted by his match-winning goal in Fulham’s previous encounter against Benfica.
His performances have provided a significant boost to the team as they prepare for their Premier League opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford next Friday.
Defender Calvin Bassey was also instrumental in Fulham’s solid backline, contributing to the clean sheet, while fellow Nigeria international Kevin Akpoguma featured for Hoffenheim in their 2-0 loss
