Iwobi and Everton Suffer Home Defeat to Fulham

Alex Iwobi and Everton started their 2023-2024 Premier League campaign with a disappointing result at home.

Everton lost 1-0 against Fulham at Goodison Park, with Iwobi in action for the entire game.

Substitute Bobby de Cordova-Reid scored the winning goal, earning the Cottagers perfect start.

Everton narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of last season and their problems were clearly evident, with a lack of goals in the team.

The Toffees created numerous chances against a side managed by their former manager Marcus Silva, but failed to make any count.

Their best chance of the game came in the first half when Maupay then struck straight at Leno from a couple of yards out and could not beat the visiting goalkeeper when put through on goal.

Alex Iwobi also saw his goal bound curling strike saved by Leno and Patterson struck the crossbar from the rebound. Also James Tarkowski headed wide from close range, denying his equalizer late on.

Meanwhile Calvin Bassey watched the game from bench.
