Usheoritse Itsekiri is the new Nigerian 100m Champion after winning the final at the ongoing National trials at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.

Itshekiri equalled his personal best (10.02s) this season to win the race this Wednesday.

He held firm, and pulled away a clear winner over Seye Ogunlewe and Favour Ashe.

It is his second national title since turning professional.

As champions, he’ll will now represent Nigeria at the upcoming World championships in Budapest Hungary later this year.
