It’s Flattering! Janne Andersson Confirms Super Eagles Coaching Role Negotiations On

Swede coach Janne Andersson has confirmed that he is in talks with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regarding the vacant Super Eagles managerial position.

The former Sweden NT head coach, alongside French man Herve Renard are considered as leading candidates to replace Finidi George.

While the NFF has yet to make an official decision, reports suggest that Andersson is the frontrunner for the job.

Speaking to the Swedish newspaper, Expressen, Andersson described the opportunity to Manage the Super Eagles as “flattering”.

“It’s a huge footballing nation. I can confirm that I have had a dialogue with the Nigeria Football Federation,” Andersson said. “I’m extremely flattered to be in the running to be their next national team coach. Dialogue is ongoing, and I don’t really want to say more than that. I’ve been in this industry for so long and know that things can happen in different ways. So, we’ll see what happens in the future.”

The Super Eagles are currently without a head coach following the resignation of Finidi George four games into his tenure.
