Super Eagles Player Leon Balogun has emphasized that Rangers are fully prepared for the battle as they face Celtic in today’s Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park.
Philippe Clement’s side, last season’s Scottish Cup winners, are eager to secure their first piece of silverware this campaign and continue their strong run of form.
Rangers enter the clash brimming with confidence, having gone unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions.
The team’s recent performances have set the stage for what promises to be a fiercely contested final.
Balogun, speaking ahead of the showdown, stressed the importance of victory for the team and the club.
“If you look at the recent games, it’s quite simple — we have to win,” said the Nigerian defender.
“That’s the answer. That would be massive because for most of the players it would be the first trophy at the club.”
The 35-year-old also highlighted the high expectations that come with playing for Rangers, underscoring the club’s tradition of winning.
“Also the significance for the club itself is massive. We all signed here to win trophies, and that’s the next opportunity to do it. Coming second is something that’s really not of any interest,” Balogun remarked.
“I think you cannot have that mindset of being pleased with a runners-up medal if you play for Rangers because first is the only thing that matters. Losing doesn’t count. It’s all or nothing.”
With the stakes high and fierce rivals Celtic standing in their way, Rangers will need to channel their recent momentum and fighting spirit to lift the trophy and deliver a statement win for their fans.
