It feels Good! Onuachu scores again for KRC Genk

Paul Onuachu isn’t taking long to establish himself as a marksman in Belgian football, three games into his new career with KRC Genk.

Onuachu grabbed his second consecutive league goal on Saturday as Genk brushed aside Oostende 3-1 in a Jupiler League match at the Luminus Arena.

The 6.6 ft forward scored in the 44th minute to restore the home side’s lead.

Genk took the lead, fortuitously from a Ronald Vargas owngoal (18′). But the visitors responded through Idrissa Sylla in the 32nd minute.

The home side wrapped it up in the 90th minute through Sander Berge, after Onuachu’s goal.

Following up from his strike against Charleroi, Onuachu showed a poacher’s instinct as he poked in from close range despite the pressure from defenders.

However, he would play only 69 minutes, but the Nigeria International says it was a good feeling to get another start, to score again and help the club return to winning ways.

“It’s a good feeling for the team, because we’ve been a little bit down in the past weeks. It’s very good to get a win in this place; our home field and for the fans, it’s a good feeling for everybody,” Onuachu said.

“We just worked through the Coach’s instruction, he always asked me to be in the box and I think I was in the right position, and Joachim crossed it and I put it in. It was a good collective goal from the team, I was very happy for it and it was a good game for the team.”
