Ademola Lookman has not been included in Atalanta’s squad for the Serie A fixture against Spezia.

Lookman missed the last two matches due to injury he suffered against Bologna two weeks ago.

The 25 year-old striker was expected to make his return for Atalanta against Torino in the Serie A fixture at the Stadio Olimpico Grande last Saturday, but it was pushed forward by the medical team.

According to Bergamo based tabloid, Tutto Atalanta reported, that manager Pierre Gian Gasperini could welcome back the striker for game against Spezia.

“Atalanta coach Gian Gasperini is trying to recover Ademola Lookman, who is putting the injury to his right hamstring behind him for Wednesday’s match against Spezia,” a statement from Tutto Atalanta stated.

However, Lookman is yet to fully recover and has been left out of the team for the Spezia game – the Nigerian was listed as injured.

Lookman is Atalanta’s top goalscorer in Serie A this season with 13 goals and five assists in 28 games.

With four home fixtures left on their schedule, Atalanta remain seventh on the log but are still in the race for European football.
