Edna Imade’s header in the 71st minute saved Granada in their 1-1 draw during the Spanish women’s league clash against Badalona, on Saturday, at the Ciudad Deportiva del Granada.

The match was looking to be heading towards a loss for Granada after former AS FAR FC captain Ghizlane Chebbak gave Badalona the lead in the 64th minute.

The Moroccan international pounced on a perfectly weighted pass from Maria Llompart Pons, racing through on goal before finishing coolly in a one-on-one situation to break the deadlock.

Granada responded quickly, with Imade coming close to equalizing moments before she did.

The Nigerian-Spanish forward saw her header miss the target in the 68th minute, but just three minutes later, she made no mistake.

Laura Perez’s well-placed corner kick was met by Imade, who rose above the defense to head the ball past Badalona’s goalkeeper, securing her sixth goal of the season and bringing Granada level.

Imade, who has been a standout performer for Granada this season, is the club’s top scorer.

While she has made a name for herself in Spain’s top division, the 25-year-old forward is still weighing her international future.

The draw leaves Granada in ninth place on the league table, with 10 points from 10 games.

They will look to build on the result when they travel to Levante on November 24, 2024, for their next league fixture.
