I’ll do everything to be in Russia – Ighalo

Super Eagles striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has expressed his readiness to sacrifice everything it takes to ensure he appears in next Summer’s FIFA Mundial.

Speaking in an interview with brila.net, Ighalo said he will do everything possible to represent the Country in the tournament holding in Russia.

“I am ready to do everything possible to play at the World Cup, If that requires me to play more carefully during matches and training, I will”, Ighalo told brila.net.

The Changchun Yatai striker who racked up 15 goals last season in the colours of the Chinese outfit after joining them from English side, Watford.

Ighalo, however, missed out on the last two Super Eagles fixtures against Algeria and the top class friendly game against Argentina due to injury.

The Ajegunle born footballer also launched his Foundation over the weekend in Lagos, as part of his intention to give back to his society.

The Event was attended by Football stars, Ex-Internationals, and Legends which include Victor Ikpeba, and Nwankwo Kanu. Former High Commissioner to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro was also at the Event.

Meanwhile, Former Arsenal and France international striker Thierry Henry who is in Lagos for the Guinness Made of Black programme has been crowned the, Igwe of football’ in Nigeria.

Henry who is in Lagos to meet the ‘Be a Front Row Fan’ winners; a consumer promotion of the company also watched the West Brom v Manchester United EPL game at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Aside receiving the ‘igwe of football’ title, Henry also participated in the cooking of Jollof rice.

The 40-year-old Frenchman retired from football in 2014.
