Former Nigerian forward, Victor Ikpeba has backed Ademola Lookman to become the next break out star for the Super Eagles.
Lookman made his international debut for Nigeria in the World Cup qualification playoff against Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, soon after switching his International eligibility from England.
He was handed his first start for the return leg of the playoff against Ghana in Abuja, four days later, and won the penalty converted by William Troost Ekong as the Super Eagles narrowly missed out of the World Cup in Qatar.
The player has since moved on from the disappointment and is delivering good performances for Leicester City.
He has scored two and provided two assists for the Foxes in the UEFA Conference league and also found teh back of the net in the Premier League.
Speaking on the Player’s recent performance Ikpeba said, Lookman will surely become a big asset for the Super Eagles in the nearest future.
“Look at Lookman scoring the first goal for Leicester City, I am happy for the young lad. He is a good player that will come good in the future,” Ikpeba said.
Lookman is expected to be in action again when the Super Eagles kick off their African Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign in May.
