Genk’s forward Ike Ugbo has announced his intention to play for the Super Eagles ahead of England.
Ugbo who has represented England at the youth level revealed, he has decided to play for Nigeria at full international level.
Ugbo said in an interview with Sport/Vietbal Magazine : “I choose Nigeria, we are currently preparing the papers.
“The upcoming World Cup (Qatar, 2022) will play its part in this (decision).
“I think I have more chances with Nigeria than with England.
“I also grew up with images of the national team and always followed their strikers, especially the boys who came to England.”
Ugbo joined Genk from Premier League giants Chelsea after a stellar loan spell at another Belgian club, Cercle Brugge.
He scored on his debut for the former Belgian Champions against Anderlecht.
