Kelechi Iheanacho followed up his goal scoring performance against Cambridge United with a double against Rotherham in Leicester City’s pre-season.
Iheanacho scored a brace; the goals coming in the 11th and 69th minutes, to give Leicester the lead twice in the game that eventually ended 2-2 at the New York Stadium.
The Nigerian was part of a second Foxes team that filed out in pre-season on Saturday as the club played two different opponents.
Brendan Rodgers lined up a different XI against Stoke City in the first friendly on the day. New boy Ayoze Perez made his debut for the club.
It was more like Leicester City’s team A and the ran away 2-1 winners against the Potters – Etebo was in Benin attending the wedding ceremony of Eagles teammate Henry Onyekuru.
Led by their 35 year-old captain, Wes Morgan, the second team filed out against The Millers, who had 26 year-old Nigerian forward Joshua Kayode come from the bench.
But, it was Iheanacho who would steal the show as he continues to make a case for more game minutes, with competition for a place in the starting XI swelling.
