Kelechi Iheanacho scored for the third consecutive time as Leicester City edged stubborn Stoke City 2-0 in Saturday’s Championship game.

Fresh from his performance against Preston North End in midweek, Iheanacho broke Stoke’s resistance in the 24th minute.

He got to the end of Ricardo Pereira’s cross and applied a brilliant finish from the edge of the area.

The Nigeria international now has four goals and one assist for the Foxes across all competitions so far this term.

English forward Jamie Vardy, a second-half substitute, sealed the win with the team’s second goal — his fourth league goal of the season.

Following the victory, the Foxes recorded the best start in EFL Championship history, picking 30 points from possible 33.
