Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has disclosed that he is happy with his current form in front of goal, following his brace in Leicester City’s 2-2 draw with League One side Rotherham United in a pre-season game at the New York Stadium on Saturday.
Iheanacho has endured a difficult spell in front of goal for the Foxes in the past 11-month, a form that cost him a place in Super Eagles final squad to the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
However, Iheanacho has returned to Leicester City pre-season camp and he’s now back to his to good form, the former Manchester City headed in the second goal of City’s 3-0 pre-season win over Cambridge United last Tuesday, before following it up with a brace against Rotherham United on Saturday.
“I am delighted, I am happy getting two goals. Hopefully, I can take that into the season. I think it’s important for my confidence. It has been a long time coming but I am happy again. I think I can take it fully into the season.
“We have a big squad, so many players who are good footballers. Everyone is competing and fighting for a place,” he said in a postmatch interview.
