Iheanacho eyes revenge against Newcastle United
97
Leicester will trade tackle with Newcastle United on Tuesday for the League Cup quarter-final game, and Kelechi Iheanacho believes his team can get their revenge.
The Foxes lost 3-0 to the Eddie Howe’s side at the King Power Stadium in December with goals from Miguel Almiron, Chris Wood and Joelinton.
While Leicester City secured passage to the next round of FA Cup with a win over Gillingham on Saturday, Newcastle United suffered a shock exit at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday same day.
Iheanacho however believes his side have the momentum going into the game.
“This gave us momentum to go to the next cup competition,” the Forward said. “We are playing Newcastle. Sort of revenge because [they] beat us in the Premier League.
“It is not going to be easy, but fingers crossed, we will go there and fight to our last breath to make sure that we win,” Iheanacho concluded.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored the decider for Leicester City against Gillingham to take his FA Cup tally to 16.
The Nigerian has started just eight games for Leicester City this season.
