Odion Ighalo says Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is the best striker in the world at the moment.
Ighalo, believes Benzema has been incredible over the last two years, winning title with Real Madrid and individual awards.
Since Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid in 2018, Benzema has become the club’s main man, playing 180 games and scoring 117 goals.
The French striker has thrived in the role, scoring 44 times last season to lead Los Blancos to a domestic and European double.
The 34-year-old exploits over the past 12 months won him his first Ballon d’Or crown for the best player in the World.
In a chat with FIFA ahead of preparations for the Club World Cup Ighalo said, the French forward remain the best in the business, despite the emergence of young strikers like Victor Osimhen, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
“For me, at the moment, he’s [Karim Benzema] the best striker [in the world].
“He’s been incredible over the last two years. I am very happy that he’s been winning awards.”
Ighalo and Benzema will face themselves in the FIFA World Club Cup in Morocco later this year.
