‘Ighalo doing exactly what we asked of him,’ says Solskjaer

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed Odion Ighalo is doing exactly what the technical crew are asking of him,  after netting a brace for the Red Devils in the English FA cup.

Ighalo was the hero on Thursday as the Club booked their place in the last eight of the FA cup following their 3-0 success over Derby County at Elland road.

After marking his first Manchester United start with a goal against Club Brugge, Ighalo’s second start brought two more goals to see off Derby.

The former Watford striker was tagged as a panic buy before he had even kicked a ball but the Nigerian is showing what he can in front of goal, something that delights Solskjaer.

“He is doing what it says on the tin and what we asked for when we signed him,” said Solskjaer afterwards.

“He is experienced and he has scored goals all of his career. He is in and around the box, he reads it, he sniffs out where the chances will come. I think that striker is vital for a team.” He said of the Nigerian striker.

The Norwegian will be banking on his Nigerian import to deliver once again when they come up against Manchester City in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Sunday.
